“All Because of Her” CNN’s April Ryan And Brian Stelter Imply Black Republican Kim Klacik Drove Elijah Cummings to His Death Over Criticism of Rat-Infested Baltimore

CNN contributor April Ryan and CNN media reporter Brian Stelter attacked black Republican Kimberly Klacik on Saturday, implying she drove Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) to his death last month after her video exposé on rat and trash infested Baltimore neighborhoods in his Congressional District provoked a national firestorm from President Trump. Klacik, 37, was attacked by Ryan and Stelter over her announcement of her candidacy for Cummings’ vacant seat. Cummings, who was first elected to Congress in 1996, died October 17 at age 68 from “complications concerning longstanding health challenges“. Klacik’s videos were released in late July.

Ryan wrote on Twitter, “This is the woman who created all the controversy that made @realDonaldTrump go after @RepCummings and Baltimore. Cummings never got over the attack on him and the city. It is all because of her.”

Stelter chimed in with agreement with Ryan, adding a dig at his arch rival Fox News which broadcast Klacik’s videos of the rat-infested Baltimore neighborhoods in Cummings’ district, “all because of her… and her ability to get on Fox!”

Isaiah Washington responded to Ryan, thanking her for the unintended boost she has given to Klacik’s candidacy, “Way to go @AprilDRyan ! You have just given @kimKBaltimore the massive attention she needed not only for her campaign announcement and fundraising, but ‘this’ tweet will most likely ensure her WIN. Don’t delete it now, because it’s going down in the history books for sure. #KAG”

Scott Presler asked Ryan why she would oppose someone helping to clean up Baltimore, “You should be thanking @kimKBaltimore for bringing attention to the city of Baltimore. Her video was retweeted by @realDonaldTrump, which inspired me to organize Baltimore cleanups. We picked up 29 tons of trash. How can anyone be against that?”

Klacik is kicking off her campaign with an event on Tuesday in Hunt Valley, Maryland. As she notes, the 7th District encompasses parts of Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County.
