Ten Senate Republicans today voted to end President Trump’s border emergency.
These same Republicans never voted to end a declared emergency by Barack Obama.
Presidents have declared national emergencies for nearly 50 years.
Barack Obama declared 13 national emergencies, 11 of which continue to this day.
The Obama emergencies included the Swine Flu, Flint water crisis and Iran.
The Senate never pushed back on Obama’s declared emergencies.
But TEN RINOs today voted to prevent funds be diverted to the Trump Border Wall.
Roy Blunt, Susan Collins, Mike Lee, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul, Rob Portman, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey and Roger Wicker.
These ten Republicans should be voted out of office in a primary.
The Hill reported:
The Senate again voted on Wednesday to end President Trump’s emergency declaration on the U.S.-Mexico border wall, paving the way for a veto showdown with the White House.
Senators voted 54–41 on a resolution to end the declaration, which Trump used to shift billions of dollars from the military toward wall construction.
Under the National Emergencies Act, a resolution ending the declaration needed only a simple majority to clear the Senate, making it likely to be approved. But underscoring the broad swath of concern about Trump’s actions among the Senate GOP caucus, 11 Republican senators voted to nix the declaration.
