Giuliani Defends Trump, Points a Finger at Biden and Barack. Collusion? And We’re Doomed

On Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani went to bat for the Commander-in-Chief and pointed to Barack and Biden in the process.

Rudy explained to host Maria Bartiromo that his function’s fairly elementary:

“My role is very, very simple. I’m a lawyer defending a client.”

The former mayor of New York also said he’s sniffin’ a lead on some stuff that could not only prove Trump was collusion-free in 2016, but would also finger Democrats as in cahoots with Ukraine:

“If you can prove that somebody else did it, or there’s some other explanation for it, then you pursue that vigorously.”

Rudy also addressed his part in looking into allegations that Joe Biden, when he was VP, threatened to withhold payment of a billion-dollar debt unless Ukraine fired top prosecutor Viktor Shokin:

“I wasn’t trying to get dirty information on Biden. Biden was in our way.”

Guiliani had with him an affidavit, in fact, in which Viktor confirmed he was pressured to resign because he wouldn’t drop a case against Burisma Holdings — the energy company on whose board Joe’s son, Hunter, was a member.

The statement specifically mentions Biden and the billion dollars.

Rudy also accused Hunter Biden of taking payment from China in order to curry favor from his dad.

Sound vaguely familiar? It does to Rudy:

“The pattern is a pattern of pay for play. It includes something very similar to what happened to the Clinton Foundation. Which goes to the very core of what did Obama know, and when did he know it?”

Additionally, he referenced a NYT piece from 2015 about the Hunter-Burisma-Ukraine connection:

“The question is when Biden and Obama saw that article, about how the son was pulling down money from the most crooked oligarch in Russia, did Obama call Biden in and say ‘Joe, how could you be doing this?’”

Not exactly a help to Joe’s anti-corruption message.

Furthermore, in response to a recent story that Rudy worked with attorneys Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGenova on digging up dirt on Biden, he claimed there was no such team-up, and the intel “was handed to [him] by the Ukranians.”

It’s a turbulent time, and impeachment is a-comin’ — maybe.

Would Giuliani testify if he was subpoenaed by the House?

That’d depend on the opinion of the man for whom he’s working:

“I’m his attorney, there’s something called attorney-client privilege. That has to be considered even if they don’t think he should have attorney-client privilege.”

As for calling for Ukraine to investigate Biden, Rudy created quite the ruckus just days ago when he gave a bit of a confusing answer to Don Lemon (see more here):

I have a feeling we’re slipping into madness.

Many times, I’ve theorized the Russia collusion investigation will never, ever end. Evidence of that crusade will be found drawn within caves by a future civilization on the other side of our destruction by cow farts, to be resurrected as a plague on those poor intergalactic saps. But now I’m thinking it’s transforming.

Russia is now Ukraine. What once was 2016 is 2020. And old is new and the never-ending saga of “Please, anybody — just anybody — invalidate this guy” — will be the screed written across the suckered faces of a generation forced to forever hear — and, sadly, write about — the great lunge without a landing.

Oy.
