The official Facebook account for the Kankakee, Illinois Democratic Party shared a meme comparing ‘Make America Great Again’ hats to Ku Klux Klan hoods in a now deleted post.
The post read, “what’s the difference between a Klan hood and a MAGA hat? The Klan hood was made in America.”
It featured a man in a red KKK hood styled like a hat and emblazoned with “Make America Hate Again” across the front.
“For me, it’s all about the hypocrisy of this president. He says he’s going to make America great, and then did what he did to these four congresswomen … If he’s going to really make America great, don’t make your stuff overseas,” Kankakee Democratic Chairman John Willard told Crain’s Chicago Business.
The party chapter has since deleted the highly controversial post.
Governor J.B. Pritzker blasted Willard on Twitter, saying he “is wrong and lacks the civility our politics should demand.”

All official Trump hats are made in America, in a factory just outside Los Angeles. The factory employs approximately 100 workers, many of whom are Latino.
