She’s no Einstein, she has a 23 percent approval rating, her Green New Deal was just voted down in the Senate with just a handful of support from Democrats–most of who opted to vote “present”–but on Friday night MSNBC is airing a Green New Deal town hall held in her district at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine headlined by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). A local reporter said she was given a ‘rock star’ reception by the crowd of several hundred in attendance.
Ocasio-Cortez, who has said there is only twelve years left to save the planet from climate change, carried her doom and gloom message to the town hall, saying, according to News 12 reporter Bronx Michelle Arezou Ross, “There will be no future for the Bronx, no future for future generations coming… if we don’t address this issue as urgently for the scale that is this problem.”

The town hall was taped Friday afternoon. The Einstein School explained in a promo for the event why they were chosen to be the host.
“On March 29, 2019, Einstein’s new U.S. congressional representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, will come to campus to participate in a town hall-style event produced by cable news channel MSNBC. The primary topic for the program is the Green New Deal. Einstein was selected as the site not only because we are a major institution in Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s district, but because the MSNBC host for the event, Chris Hayes, was born at Montefiore’s Weiler Hospital.”
“The taping will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday in Robbins Auditorium. The event is “sold out,” but the program will air that night at 8 p.m. on MSNBC and will be available online.”
NBC/MSNBC’ Beth Fouhy posted a gushing promotional blurb for the town hall.
Such a smart, engaging discussion of the Green New Deal with @chrislhayes and @AOC today in the Bronx. Tune in to All In on MSNBC tonight at 8pm ET. #msnbc #inners pic.twitter.com/bzUrCEmCOS

NY1 reporter Bobby Cuza posted a few brief reports on the town hall, including the ‘rock star’ reception and Ocasio-Cortez musing she could turned out of office by voters after only one term. Cuza also noted an anti-Trump Republican was part of the show.
So AOC is taping town hall right now at Einstein College of Medicine with MSNBC's Chris Hayes (airing tonight) and the rock star reception she gets in the room is truly startling. Never seen anything remotely like it with another politician.

Lots of love for the Bronx at this AOC town hall, despite national focus. Most in audience say they are from Bx, as is host @chrislhayes. And AOC gets some woops when she mentions Parkchester bodega she says she still goes to. pic.twitter.com/3ytDUKIRgs

AOC does not offer much when asked about her political future. Says it's possible "I'm in office for two years and I take huge political risks and they kick me out."

Interesting to see some in crowd hiss and heckle former GOP Rep. Bob Inglis's after he references to "Tea Party of the left." AOC: "The Koch brothers funded the Tea Party and everyday people funded my campaign."
Inglis is anti-Trump and has long worked to fight climate change.— Bobby Cuza (@bcuza) March 29, 2019
For some reason, MSNBC’s promotional department thought this video of the line for the town hall was worth promoting.
