President Trump posted a new State of the Union video clip by @CarpeDonktum on Saturday that replaces the one taken down from his account by Twitter on Friday following a complaint from R.E.M. about excerpts of their 1992 hit song “Everybody Hurts” being used in the video created by the Trump supporting satirist. Bassist Mike Mills called Trump “#PresidentAsshole” in his complaint to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The band’s official account also chimed in with a call for Congress and the media to “ghost this faker!!!”
CNBC reported the video was taken down following a complaint by R.E.M.’s music publisher, Universal Music Publishing Group.
The political satire video featured clips from Trump’s February 5th State of the Union address interspersed with excerpts of “Everybody Hurts” and images of Trump critics in the audience.
The new video has a surprise twist that makes the same point about Trump’s critics, but from a positive perspective. The new video is posted below the following background info.

The updated version by Carpe Donktum posted by President Trump uses the same video but with excerpts from Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” as the music. Greenwood is a Trump supporter who has performed his signature song at Trump rallies.
