A US Marine is dead after he was shot while on duty at the Marine barracks in Southeast DC.
The shooting was reported at around 5 AM Tuesday morning.
The Marine was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
According to a Marine spokesperson, no suspects have been arrested and the identity of the deceased Marine is being withheld from the public until his next of kin are notified.
The gunshot wound was not self-inflicted, Captain Colleen McFadden told the New York Post.
