Second Lady Karen Pence
Second Lady Karen Pence decided to dedicate two days a week teaching art to students at Immanuel Christian Elementary School in northern Virginia.
“I am excited to be back in the classroom and doing what I love to do, which is to teach art to elementary students,” Mrs. Pence said in a statement.
“I have missed teaching art, and it’s great to return to the school where I taught art for 12 years,” Pence added.
The hate-filled media immediately attacked Second Lady Karen Pence, a devout Christian woman who has dedicated her life to teaching because of a “parent agreement” policy that bans gay students and parents from the school.
The agreement, which is not uncommon for private Christian institutions, discusses sexual morality defined by Biblical scripture and doesn’t exclusively single out homosexuality, but the media once again showed their anti-Christian bigotry.
The parent agreement states:
“I understand that the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission to an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student if the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home, the activities of a parent or guardian, or the activities of the student are counter to, or are in opposition to, the biblical lifestyle the school teaches.”
‘This includes, but is not limited to contumacious behavior, divisive conduct, and participating in, supporting, or condoning sexual immorality, homosexual activity or bi-sexual activity, promoting such practices, or being unable to support the moral principles of the school. (Lev. 20:13 and Romans 1:27.) I acknowledge the importance of a family culture based on biblical principles and embrace biblical family values such as a healthy marriage between one man and one woman. My role as spiritual mentor to my children will be taken seriously.”
Kara Brooks, Mrs. Pence’s communications director, said the attention paid to the school’s agreement is “absurd.”
“Mrs. Pence has returned to the school where she previously taught for 12 years. It’s absurd that her decision to teach art to children at a Christian school, and the school’s religious beliefs, are under attack,” Kara Brooks said in a statement to CNN.
This wasn’t enough for CNN though — they wanted to know if Karen Pence agreed with the policy.
WaPo ran an article attacking Mrs. Pence’s school choice, claiming ‘the school that hired Karen Pence requires applicants to disavow gay marriage, trans identity.’
The New York Times also jumped in and reported, “Second lady Karen Pence is teaching at a private Christian school that does not allow LGBT students, and requires employees to affirm that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.”
If the Second Lady was a Muslim woman teaching at a Muslim school with a similar agreement addressing homosexuality, the mainstream media would NEVER have said a word about the school choice.
