Senior White House advisor Kellyanne Conway defended Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Monday against a growing number of uncorroborated accusations of sexual assault of women from his school years being used by liberals to try to derail his nomination, saying, “I just don’t think one man’s shoulders should bear decades of the MeToo movement.”
Conway appeared on CBS This Morning to discuss the latest uncorroborated charge against Kavanaugh, this by a Yale classmate, Deborah Ramirez, who accused him of exposing himself to her at a drunken dorm party in the 1980s. The accusation was published by the New Yorker on Sunday, even though no corroborating eyewitness could be found. Conway was interviewed by This Morning co-hosts Norah O’Donnell, Gayle King and John Dickerson.

Conway made an interesting point in the interview about the accusations against Kavanaugh and the Me Too movement. Kavanaugh is being accused (without proof) of sexual abuse of women when he was a teenager, not as a powerful adult even though he employed numerous women as law clerks. Conway pointed out that it is usually when men become powerful that they prey on women–as has been shown in the media by the numerous anchors and executives exposed as abusers by the Me Too movement.
