The US unemployment rate reported released this morning is now down to 3.8%! The US hasn’t seen unemployment this low since 2000!
This morning the US unemployment rate dropped from 3.9% last month to 3.8% in May –
The US unemployment rate fell to 3.8 percent in May 2018 from 3.9 percent in the previous month, and below market expectations of 3.9 percent. It was the lowest rate since April 2000. Unemployment Rate in the United States averaged 5.78 percent from 1948 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 10.80 percent in November of 1982 and a record low of 2.50 percent in May of 1953.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics also reported 223,000 new jobs in April.
