Former Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe filed a lawsuit against the DOJ, Inspector General and FBI Tuesday over his firing.
The much-anticipated Inspector General’s report on the FBI’s (mis)handling of Hillary Clinton’s email investigation will be released to the public on June 14th.

Lawyers representing former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe filed a suit against the Justice Department and FBI on Tuesday, alleging that they wouldn’t give up files connected to his ouster.
McCabe’s lawyers claimed that the Justice Department has denied their client access to the sought-after information out of concern that the documents could be later used against them, the lawsuit said. The suit also named the office of the DOJ inspector general.
“We don’t create or adjudicate under secret law or procedure,” David Snyder, one of McCabe’s lawyers, said in an email to The Associated Press.
McCabe’s lawyers say in the complaint that they want the records as they “seek to vindicate Mr. McCabe’s rights and restore his good name,” and as they weigh whether to take more legal action over a firing they contend was improper.
On March 16th, Andrew McCabe was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions just hours before he was set to retire after serving over two decades in the FBI.
Inspector General Horowitz released a scathing report on McCabe in mid-April accusing him of lying under oath several times.
Andrew McCabe was subsequently criminally referred to the US Attorney’s office in DC by the Office of Inspector General.
In a letter sent to Chairman Grassley last Monday, Andrew McCabe’s attorney Michael Bromwich requested the Senate Judiciary Committee grant the former FBI official immunity from prosecution in exchange for testifying at next week’s Congressional hearing on the FBI’s handling of the Clinton investigation.
McCabe’s lawyer, Michael Bromwich also stated in the letter they requested an investigation into the DOJ’s source of leaks about the former FBI official’s criminal referral to the US Attorney’s office.
