Ouch!
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s longtime personal attorney and “fixer,” has said in the past that he’d take a bullet for Trump. He has lavished praise on the man so exuberantly that it borders on parody.
I talked last week about the possible charges of wire and bank fraud, as well as campaign finance law violations that Cohen may be facing.
The question at that time pertained to whether Cohen would risk the well-being of his family and a long-term prison sentence to protect Trump. After all, according to other insiders, Trump took sadistic glee in demeaning and abusing Cohen.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Cohen would be pleading the Fifth Amendment in his case.
As of this morning, Cohen can tell you what the underside of the Trump bus looks like, because that’s exactly where Trump threw him.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends” this morning, President Trump spoke as if he barely knew Cohen’s name.
“This has nothing to do with me,” Trump said during an interview on “Fox and Friends.” “I’ve been told I’m not involved.”
“I don’t his know business … I have nothing to do with his business,” the president said.
Trump said Cohen handled just a “tiny, tiny fraction” of his legal work.
Cohen has worked for Trump for over a decade.
Through his entire, fast-paced rant, Trump did mention that Cohen had worked on the nondisclosure agreement with Stormy Daniels for him.
That would be the nondisclosure agreement that he has previously swore he had no knowledge of.
And he said these things on live television.
Even the hosts of “Fox & Friends” seemed a bit taken aback by the president’s hasty denial of a relationship with Michael Cohen.
Now we wait and see if Cohen has watched the segment, and if he’s ready to eat more abuse from the man he swears such loyalty to.
