After Senator Rand Paul caused what is expected to be a brief government shutdown over wasteful spending on Thursday evening, Bette Midler took to Twitter to wish violence upon him.
“Where’s Rand Paul’s neighbor when we need him?” the washed up singer asked.
Where’s Rand Paul’s neighbor when we need him?

Senator Paul was the victim of political violence last year when he was attacked by his far-left neighbor, leaving him with six broken ribs.

Paul’s neighbor Rene Boucher claimed that the attack was not politically motivated, despite the fact that he had not spoken to the senator in years prior to the vicious assault. Responding to reports of a longstanding dispute with the attacker, a statement from the senator’s office asserted that the Paul’s “have had no conversations with him in many years. The first ‘conversation’ with the attacker came after Sen. Paul’s ribs were broken. This was not a ‘fight’, it was a blindside, violent attack by a disturbed person. Anyone claiming otherwise is simply uninformed or seeking media attention.”
“I guess some people think felony assault, six broken ribs and other internal injuries are funny. That makes them pretty disturbed,” Senator Paul’s Chief Strategist Doug Stafford told the Gateway Pundit in response to Midler’s tweet.
Needless to say, her tweet did not receive the laughter she expected.
Preparing to go to prison after pleading guilty to felony assault on Rand Paul. Rand suffered 6 broken ribs, 3 of those being displaced, and was hospitalized with pneumonia from his lung also being damaged from the attack. Where’s your sense of morality? Gone like your career. https://t.co/Vky2yYtoIC

That one had to sting.

Shit like this is why I’ve been attacked twice for wearing Trump gear and why my boys get scared for me being a vocal Trump supporter. The left is vile and sick. Shame on you Bette

I made sure i saved this tweet so I can show everybody how you are advocating violence against a sitting senator. What a great role model you are.

Butte Midler is probably one who cheered the Bernie supporter shooting up the GOP softball practice. Ah, the people who own compassion.

Unfortunately, Midler wasn’t alone with her vile sentiments.

As of early Friday morning, Midler’s Twitter account remains active and verified. We have reached out to Twitter to find out if her tweet violates their new guidelines for account suspension or removal, but given her firm stance on the left, it’s safe to assume that it doesn’t.
We will update this article if and when Twitter responds to our inquiry.
