Dodge Ram ran a moving commercial for the Super Bowl this year.
The ad ran photos of America and the voice of Martin Luther King, Jr. running in the background.
The beginning of the ad notes that King delivered the sermon—known as “The Drum Major Instinct”—on Feb. 4, 1968.
It was a very moving ad.
It’s just too bad they didn’t get approval from The King Center to run the ad tonight.
The King Center posted this tweet after the ad ran.
Neither @TheKingCenter nor @BerniceKing is the entity that approves the use of #MLK’s words or imagery for use in merchandise, entertainment (movies, music, artwork, etc) or advertisement, including tonight’s @Dodge #SuperBowl commercial.
