Hawaiian Emergency Management Officials Hold Interview – Have Post-It Notes of Legible Passwords on Their Computer Screens

- Januari 16, 2018

The Boston Herald interviewed the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency in July 2017 on incoming threats.

The report included several photos from inside the operations room.

The fourth photo over shows Hawaii Emergency Management Agency’s current operations officer, Jeffrey Wong, in front of computer screens monitoring hazards at the agency’s headquarters in Honolulu on Friday, July 21, 2017.

The photo of wong showed computer screens inside the operations room.

Wong and the operators in the room forgot to take down the sticky notes with the passwords on the screens.

The system password is “Password Warningpoint2”.

This past weekend Hawaiian officials sent out an emergency text message warning residents of an incoming ballistic missile.

It was a bogus warning.

When Hawaiian officials button up procedures this week they may want to take the passwords off the computer screens during interviews.
