Eating Their Own: Celebs Turn on Al Franken Over Groping Revelation

- November 16, 2017

Oh, this is sweet justice.

As we’ve been bringing to you, the most obnoxious, arrogant liberal senator currently (dis)serving in the Senate, Al “Stuart Smalley” Franken, has been caught with his hands in the cookie jar.

And by “cookie jar,” I mean he molested a Los Angeles radio host, Leeann Tweeden, in 2006.

Tweeden chose today to come forward with her story, and it’s just as awful as anything being alleged against Roy Moore. The difference is, Franken isn’t actually denying it. Because he can’t.

Tweeden says that while rehearsing for a USO show for the troops in the Middle East, in December of 2006, Franken grabbed her head and forcibly kissed her, jamming his tongue in her mouth.

She pushed him away and told him to never do that to her again.

He, of course, was petty and vindictive about it, which is pretty much the Al Franken we see in the Senate, and at some point, was photographed violating her, as she caught a nap.

Photo evidence, Al.

So while Franken has apologized, attempted to reason away the occurrence “not being how he remembered it,” it’s a pleasant surprise to see that, for once, liberal celebrities are not circling the wagons around one of their own, but are calling him out for his atrocious behavior.

They’re not just calling him out. They’re saying he should resign – or worse.

Kathy Griffin, who has had her own troubles with inappropriate behavior and bad publicity, tossed this out there:

Actually, nobody was claiming Leeann was a “slut,” or that she did anything to invite Franken’s boorish behavior, but, yeah. Otherwise, Griffin is exactly right.

Actress Alyssa Milano, who kicked off the #metoo hashtag campaign, offered her own take.

Truth.

The incredible Hulk’s alter-ego, Mark Ruffalo, had a quick take, and retweeted a message calling for Franken’s resignation:

No. It’s not.

And Gabrielle Union, actress and rape survivor, also chimed in:

Franken may have. I’m hoping the weight of just now not funny that was is weighing heavy on him, now.

Finally, Antonio Sabato Jr, an actor and model who spoke at the 2016 RNC convention took it a step further:

I don’t know if there are charges that can come from a nearly 11 year old case, but if it were possible, and if it resulted in Al Franken being led from the Senate floor in handcuffs, it would legit be the funniest thing involving Al Franken since the 70s.
